The Presses of Nuova IDROPRESS S.p.A. are specific for elasticizing EPS blocks from which obtaining sheets for low density soundproofing type Trittschall (typically used in countries such as Germany and Switzerland for the soundproofing of floors) and at a higher density (between 15¸20 kg/m3) in case even a certain grade of heat insulation is requested (for application in the combined heat insulation and soundproofing of the walls).

The standard dimensions are foreseen for pressing blocks up to 8.0 x 1.2 x 2.5 m with variable powers up to 400 tons in function of the machine dimension in such a way to be able to ensure always a pressure of about 4¸5 kg/cm2.

The optimum layout of the machine, even in this case as in the case of the block moulds, is the vertical one as it allows to avoid the blocks tilters both in loading and unloading and allows to reduce the space occupied by the machine.
The pressing speed and the parallelism of the plates are electronically checked through a sophisticated hydraulic proportional system that allows to compress, in an effective way and without consequences on its mechanical apparatus, even blocks of lower height to the nominal of the machine (up to the half of the maximum measure).
The possibility of programming multiple pressings with different grades of compression and different speeds of pressings allows also to vary as required the compression cycles in function of the density and type of material with the aim of optimizing the acoustic insulation properties of the finished product.
The machines are managed by a PLC with operator interface on industrial PC, of Fanless type and 15” Touch Screen display. The state of all the parts of the machine is visualized on the supervision system, and a graphic is also present that visualizes the course of the curve of the block pressing and all the pressures in field.
It is possible to memorize all the parameters of process in specific production “recipes”.

The entry and exit of the blocks are automatically performed without the intervention of the operator.

EPS with this treatment gains new characteristics and is useful for further applications.
